Picked up Chrono Trigger DS again. Finished the rather boring Lost Sanctum and all 3 Temporal Vortexes to find that your reward is some badly written fan-fiction and a fight against Lavoschala who is barely harder than Phase 3 Lavos. Then there’s a really short cutscene and video that attempts to bridge CT to the AWFUL Chrono Cross. Lame.

Got The Dark Spire for DS yesterday, loving it so far. Game is fucking brutal: I’ve had to restart completely once because I blew all my cash on revives and still had 2 people dead. Even now with a little experience under my belt I still have to reload my saves every 10 minutes. Overpriced antidotes kick my ass.

How is it that ChronoTrigger is cooler and more interesting than any Square game since the 2D era ended? It sure as hell isn’t Toriyama. Must be the quick pacing and interesting minor characters, like the monsters in the monastery.
